Bringing Us Home To Ourselves(reprinted from The Pleiadian Times) One of the questions that I am asked the most often is, “What can I do to clear my illusions and attachments?” Of course, living life, by its ingenious design, will constantly challenge us with our karmic themes and provide us with endless opportunities for change. Most of us are ready to take charge of our lives and courageously become the masters of our destiny. Another way of saying this is that we enlist Spirit in a conscious partnership. The nature of life is to flow with the eternal changes, yet this need to let go into the flow is resisted and inhibited by the very nature of the ego. It does not want to change; it craves the status quo, that which is familiar, safe and consistent. Arising from this living dichotomy is the great tool of the ego: habituation. Habit makes life easy, but its disadvantage is the narrowing of consciousness, which severely limits the creative expression of our true Self. Habits on the emotional level result in the repetition of conditioned responses; trigger points surface within our energy fields waiting to be pushed, needing to be pushed, so our Emotional Body can feel its familiar “hit” of anger, sadness, fear, whatever the emotion that the ego, the addict, needs to feed upon to perpetuate its illusionary identification. These are our prisons of attachment; the ego standing on guard to insure its continued survival. Being identified with its creations, it relies on its habitual responses like we rely on three meals a day. Without feeding, we panic; our survival is at stake. The idea of letting go of our identity is not only scary but also incomprehensible. To be without ego is viewed as losing ourself. Strictly speaking, we do lose our “self,” that little, addicted, limited aspect of Self that we have molded into “something” based on everything that we have ever experienced. But who we think we are is not who we truly are. The Pleiadians say they are a manifestation of a collective consciousness. Here we have a clue to a new possibility. Is it possible that we may not be separate? That we may not be that small, bounded ego that works so hard to prove itself significant? Could the true self be a composite of the many? Going a step further, could consciousness expand even more onto a galactic level, or onto a multidimensional level that could encompass infinity? Why not? In order to flow with change, we must infuse the ego with an energy that loosens its grip on our habituated responses to life’s challenges. This energy is the spiritual energy, that which is of the highest vibration, unbounded, intelligent, creative. On a personal level we may call this the Higher Self, our inner knowing, the wisdom Self. It is that part of us that knows every choice of the past and every solution for the present. On the most expansive level, all Higher Selves are One, working in perfect synchronicity. The ability to open our consciousness to that spiritual perspective and utilize that “knowing” will put us in the Flow, stabilize us in life’s perfect unfoldment. In order to consciously connect and communicate to our Higher Self, we must develop the ability to alter our everyday, habituated consciousness into an expanded, unbounded consciousness. Since the beginning days of homo sapiens, we had the ability to move into altered states to play with the essence of sentience. Whether we did it through available botanical substances or whether we did it through other shamanistic procedures, the need to constantly modify our consciousness was compelling. This was not done to just get high or to escape unpleasantness, but to empower life. Whether it improved the ability of the hunt, or the success of mating, the expansion of consciousness is the most critical evolutionary force within our being. Throughout history, techniques have been handed down to direct the attention inward. Meditation, shamanistic practices, ritual, symbolic inner work and many other introspective abilities have opened the way to the numinous. Today, we are addicted to living outwardly. Our identity is substantiated by what happens in the material world. The farther we have been drawn outside of ourselves, the more we have lost contact with the Higher Self. The surface level of life is dominated by change. Trapped on that level, we are constantly fighting for the survival of our ego identity which we will never achieve. The only true stability is within. The “never-changing” is inside at our core. To experience this eternal, infinite, unchanging source within us is to experience our true Reality. It is a sign of our times that we call states of expanded consciousness an “altered state” instead of calling it our natural state of consciousness. Humorously, we can say that anything that does not have this “true” awareness as part of our normal state of functioning has definitely been altered. Through practice and maybe with a little help from our friends, this new expanded consciousness can not only become our field of all possibilities but can bring us home to ourselves. This pure consciousness that lies within is the source of our spiritual power. It is this vibration that heals our pain and helps us to release the attachments to the past. As demonstrated so beautifully in our Deva sessions, the spiritual energy dissolves this age-old karma energetically; ultimately it is the only answer. The Higher Self has the master plan for us just waiting to be made conscious and actualized in our life. By setting our intention to free ourselves and becoming more awake to the countless opportunities presented to us by Spirit, not only will we feel the thrill of spiritual awakening, but also we will join the tidal wave of enlightenment that is dawning for us all. |
